Dear Worshipper

Dear Worshipper,

I feel that I am going through a very dry season in my worship and I am having difficulty to even sing during church worship times. What can I do?

What you are going through is common to many worshippers. Just as there are a variety of seasons within a year there are also changes in seasons in a worshiper’s life. Ecclesiastes 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. I wouldn’t worry so much about not being able to sing as I would ask you to be sure to examine the quality of your relationship with God the Father at this time. Are you still communicating with Him? Are you reading His words to you through the Bible? Are you obeying His instructions including to “praise Him at all times”? On a more practical note maybe it is time for you to explore other forms of worshiping other than just singing. Sometimes its time to do something new and holding on to the way that it has always been done can hinder ” The New Season”. Explore other ways to express your worship.

Q  Dear Worshipper,

Is it ok to enjoy worshipping God?

While there is nothing wrong with enjoying worshipping God, one must be very careful not to worship the act of “worship”. Our worship is for the sole benefit of glorifying God and is not meant to be for our pleasure. Many worshipers become obsessed with singing, dancing and playing the instruments so much so that they don’t have time to have a real relationship with the One they are professing to worship. Though it gives God pleasure when we worship Him, true worship is out of love and adoration for God not for our enjoyment alone. Continue to check your heart motives as you ask yourself why you enjoy the act of worship, this should help you to put your pleasure in the correct perspective.

Dear Worshipper,

I am looking to start a dance team at my church what should I do?

The best thing to do is pray. Then pray some more. If after this you still feel the urge or the call then you are best to go to your Worship leader or Pastor and present them with a brief overview of what you are proposing. Please be prepared that just because you present them with the idea does not mean that they will automatically say yes. Don’t be discouraged, sometimes timing is the issue or the church may need to be educated about how a dance ministry would affect the worship. If this is God’s will then write the vision down, and wait though it may tarry surely it will come to pass. Habbakuk 2:3
